Expecially when starting out, or when rookie (to your layout) operators attend, it is helpful, though not particularly prototypical, to send them off with their first train accompanied with a list of tasks, locations and other helpful notes. Instead of a sheet of paper or a sheaf of papers, a task card printed on card stock (stiffer than paper) that can fit in a shirt pocket for easy access is a useful reference tool. Below are a couple rudimentary samples (not yet cut to proper size) to serve as a basis for a comprehensive finished product. Remember, if the task card gets too long, you can print on the other side!
