  1. While it does not effect the operational pattern of the layout, the East end has been converted into a continuous run loop from Staging through St J to Morrisville and then back through the wall to staging. This allows me to set a train in motion and not worry about the next turnout or other obstacle. Gives a rail fan experience.

  2. I have added a passing track at Wolcott (also known as the laundry room) for purposes of car storage for Wolcott Talc as well as those times when trains have to double the hill out of Hardwick. I am also working on lessening the grade west bound out of St Johnsbury…..so not every grade will require doubling when power is short.

  3. I have installed a “ready track” at the yard throat of the St Johnsbury staging area. The intent is to have operators pick up their power and assignment at the Yard Office…next to the ready track.

  4. Given the clarification of the west end into the Richford branch south to St Albans….Greens Corner has become Sheldon Springs……home to Mississquoi Paper Company….which was just sold to Stratton Paper conglomerate. Full operation will be resumed as the equipment is in well maintained condition. Rail service is still in the reestablishment phase.

Greens Corner population as been relocated just a bit further up the line to Sheldon Jct. It’s now in the corner.

  5. While the St J and LV continues to exist in a bit of a modified manner…..the priority of design has shifted to elimination of the duckunders. Fisher Bridge has been replaced by the large representation of the bridge at Stillwater, NY. Grades both east and west of the bridge allow for the duckunder by the wood stove to be raised 4 inches…which seems to make a world of difference for the majority of the crew. The track plan will continue to have a continuous run option on the east side while a reversing loop has been added.
The duckuneder necessary to access the lumber branch will also be eliminated….with the lumber branch terminal shifting to the opposite wall and the rest of the area being shifted into a continuous run loop.

  6. It’s be a bit since I’ve said anything on this system. The identity has changed to both the Mass Central and the Central Vermont RR’s working out of Palmer headed North. The foot print remains the same but the mainlines have been modified. I continue to miss the St J and LV but the Mass Central is an interesting prototype which afford more reasonable access for field trips and photos. I’ll update track plan information asap. I continue to work on staging in Palmer and other aspects of the layout.
